Cute Cthulhu Progress

There he is, adorable Cute Cthulhu!

I apologize for not posting this yesterday (as I had promised). I got distracted with other things. Dare I wonder what the real Cthulhu would think of such an item created in His honor?

I bought a small set of acrylic paints and button fasteners the other day with plans to turn this little guy into a *gasp* button! Since this is my first time messing with acrylics and the like, I've been painting on a test piece:

What's left?
1. Paint a varnish onto the test piece to see how it looks.
2. If I like it, I will do the same to Cthulhu, if not, I will skip to step three!
3. Glue the button fastener onto the back of Cute Cthulhu.
4. Wear proudly.
